Where the Money Goes

So far in 2021 we’ve donated over £16,500 worth of funding and support to amazing causes, including:

• Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre (UWEC): Caring for sick and injured animals in Africa and providing essential education programmes.
• The Lowland Tapir Conservation Initiative (LTCI): Promoting the research and conservation of lowland tapirs and their remaining habitats in Brazil

Despite facing a global pandemic, ZSH still managed to donate nearly £19,000 in funding support to many brilliant  conservation projects, including:

• African Wildlife Foundation’s Manyara Ranch Anti-Poaching Unit, which conducts patrols in Tanzania, protecting elephants, lions, cheetah & wild dogs
• Ol Pejeta Conservancy UK, helping all the animals that call Ol Pejeta home, including rhinos, chimps & lions
• Slovak Wolf Project, with their non-invasive generic monitoring within the Carpathian Wolf Watch Project
• Wildlife Vets International, supporting dedicated veterinary professionals, helping conservation organisations battling to save endangered wildlife worldwide (especially tigers and Amur leopards).
• Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, focussing on Biodiversity Conservation Education in Africa (and home to two lionesses from Paradise Wildlife Park, Bisa and Zara).
• Red Panda Network, committed to the conservation of wild red pandas and their habitat through the education and empowerment of local communities in Nepal.
• World Land Trust, dedicated to conserving the rain forest and other critical wildlife habitats.
• Shepreth Wildlife Conservation Charity’s Hedgehog Hospital, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, release and research of the European Hedgehog.

Your purchases and gifts enabled us to deliver support and funding worth over £125k in 2019! This included donating the fantastic Drive4Wildlife Vehicle, as well as supporting other organisations, including:

• Wildlife Vets International and their Tiger Conservation Project in the Chitwan National Park.
• Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, focussing on Biodiversity Conservation Education in Africa.
• Snow Leopard Trust, helping to protect snow leopards in Nepal
• Helping the Red Panda Network employ a caretaker for the plantation area in Jaubari, East Nepal.
• World Land Trust and their protection and preservation of all species living in the mountain ranges in Vietnam.
• Wolf Watch UK’s education project for European Wolf conservation and environmental education.
• SANCCOB, funding a ranger in one of four African Penguin breeding colonies, to rescue ill, injured, abandoned and oiled African Penguins.
• Croatian Wolf Project – For research into, and conservation of, Wolves and Lynx in Croatia.
• World Parrot Trust – To promote the survival of all parrot species in the wild.

In 2018 we donated over £28,000 to support various wildlife conservation projects, including:

• Helping Rhinos, a charity dedicated to protecting this endangered species.
• Wildlife Vets International, with their Wild Tiger Health Centre & in-situ field work.
• Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, home to two lionesses from Paradise Wildlife Park, Bisa and Zara.
• Red Panda Network, conserving wild red pandas and their habitat through the education and empowerment of local communities in Nepal.
• World Land Trust and protection of the Brazilian Rainforest.
• EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquaria) Silent Forest bird, fauna & flora project.
• The Rutland Falconry & Owl Centre.
• Shepreth Hedgehog Hospital, a charity hospital dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, release and research of the European Hedgehog.
• Apopo Hero Rats, a non-profit organization that trains African giant pouched rats to save lives by detecting landmines and tuberculosis.
• The Bumblebee Conservation Trust, who aim to increase the number and distribution of bumblebees.

• Wildlife Vets International – Dedicated veterinary professionals, helping conservation organisations battling to save endangered wildlife worldwide, especially the tiger and Amur leopard.
• Uganda Wildlife Education Centre – Focussing on Biodiversity Conservation Education in Africa (and home to two lionesses from Paradise Wildlife Park, Bisa and Zara).
• Wildlife Heritage Foundation – Improving infrastructure at this important big cat breeding and conservation centre in Kent.
• Red Panda Network – Committed to the conservation of wild red pandas and their habitat through the education and empowerment of local communities in Nepal.
• World Land Trust – Dedicated to conserving the rain forest and other critical wildlife habitats.
• 21st Century Tiger – A wild tiger conservation initiative, protecting tigers and their habitats.
• Wildwood Trust – For conservation of indigenous British species and to support their Brown Bear rescue project.
• Shepreth Hedgehog Hospital – Charity hospital dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, release and research of the European Hedgehog.
• Croatian Wolf Project – For research into, and conservation of, Wolves and Lynx in Croatia.
• World Parrot Trust – To promote the survival of all parrot species in the wild.
