Hertfordshire Zoo is situated just off the A10 near to junction 25 of the M25. Simply follow the brown and white tourist signs!

Hertfordshire Zoo is usually open 364 days a year (Christmas day we are closed), however there may be times where the Zoo may close due to essential and important building work.
Hertfordshire Zoo opens at 9:30am throughout the year and closes at 5:30pm (April to September) and 4:30pm (October to March). For opening and closing time of our attractions please see the tab below.

If you are travelling via the A10. Please travel to the Broxbourne/Turnford exit signposted A1170. There are brown tourist signs from this exit.
Please travel down the A1(M) to junction 1 and take the M25 (left) towards the Dartford Crossing. Travel to junction 25 and follow the brown tourist signs. If you have a SatNav device, it may bring you off the A1 at Hatfield and along the A414 and then through the lanes. Please do not panic! This is effectively the back way to Hertfordshire Zoo and you will not see any signs until you are on top of the zoo.
Please travel down to the M1 to junction 6a and take the M25 (left) towards the Dartford Crossing. Travel to junction 25 and follow the brown tourist signs.
Here at Hertfordshire Zoo we have multiple car parks. During busy periods our team will be on hand to assist you with parking. Parking at Hertfordshire Zoo is completely free of charge.
Blue Badges MUST be displayed in your vehicle upon arrival and at all times. Please note unmarked bays will be used for Blue Badge Holders during our Peak Season (Weekends and School Holidays).
Summer season hours:
Our summer season hours run from the beginning of April through to the end of September, where the zoo opens at 9:30am and closes at 5:30pm.
Boulders Beach is open during the summer months between 10:00 am – 5:00pm.
Tumble Jungle doors close at 5.30pm, last entry will be at 5.15pm.
The World of Dinosaurs last entry at 5:15pm.
Rex Express Railway – last ride is at 5:30pm.
The World of Animals gates close at 5:15pm.
The Outdoor Play Areas close at 5:30pm.
Winter season hours:
Our winter season hours run from the beginning of October through to the end of March, where the zoo opens at 9:30am and closes at 4:30pm.

If you require transport to Hertfordshire Zoo from Broxbourne Train Station, there is a taxi rank based at Broxbourne Train Station which is a 5-minute journey from Hertfordshire Zoo.
We no longer offer a minibus service to & from the station.
