Celebrating Excellence: One Zoo Three Shines at Broadcast Digital Awards with Prestigious Commendation

Join Zoo brothers Aaron, Tyler, and Cam Whitnall on their award-winning journey with 'One Zoo Three' as they captivate young audiences with thrilling wildlife adventures and conservation efforts at Hertfordshire Zoo and The Big Cat Sanctuary. Honoured at the Broadcast Digital Awards, this beloved CBBC show seamlessly blends education and entertainment, inspiring the next generation of animal enthusiasts.

The popular CBBC children’s show “One Zoo Three“, which is filmed here at Hertfordshire Zoo and our sister charity The Big Cat Sanctuary, received the Highly Commended Award at the prestigious Broadcast Digital Awards in London on Wednesday evening, 3rd July 2024. The show, featuring our very own zoo brothers Aaron, Tyler, and Cam Whitnall, was among 135 notable TV shows and channels participating in the event. “One Zoo Three” stood out, securing commendation as one of only two recipients at the entire event.

Despite narrowly missing the top accolade for Best Digital Children’s Content by a single vote to “Children in Need’s Game On Show,” “One Zoo Three” has made a significant impact. The show combines entertainment and educational content.

Produced by True To Nature and commissioned by CBBC, “One Zoo Three” is a dynamic exploration of wildlife conservation. The series follows zoo brothers Cam, Tyler, and Aaron as they help manage their family wildlife charities in Hertfordshire Zoo and The Big Cat Sanctuary in Smarden. They also visit various conservation projects worldwide. The show features engaging stories such as a snow leopard’s ultrasound and an elderly meerkat’s arthritis X-ray, balancing educational content with fun storytelling.

This commendation reflects the hard work and dedication of everyone involved, from the teams at Hertfordshire Zoo and The Big Cat Sanctuary to partners in zoos, aquariums, and conservation efforts globally.

“This award is a testament to the passion and commitment of our incredible team and partners. A special thanks goes to our fans and viewers, whose support and enthusiasm have been instrumental in our success. We are thrilled to receive such an honour and remain committed to producing content that educates and inspires our young audience,” said Tyler Whitnall, CBBC star and Director at Hertfordshire Zoo and Trustee of The Big Cat Sanctuary.
