The county of Hertfordshire is bursting with incredible businesses that do some amazing work inside the county as well as further afield not only in the country but the world. Paradise Wildlife Park is excited to announce that we have partnered with another amazing local Hertfordshire Business Stylo. Through this partnership both businesses hope to work together to help increase sustainability and minimise landfill contributions.
Stylo like Paradise Wildlife Park is a family run business who design and create incredible interiors for a wider variety of clients. When one of their clients Crew Clothing finished their Christmas season, their window displays consisting of sustainably sourced silver birch logs got both Crew Clothing and Stylo thinking about whether these logs could have another life in another way. This is where Paradise Wildlife Park and Stylo partnership blossomed and evolved.
Here at Paradise Wildlife Park, we continue to work towards sustainability. Changing and adapting to support our local and wider environment is one of our main missions. Through sustainability, conservation of environments and animal habitats can be protected and saved, minimising damage caused to any environment is a positive step for global protection.
Stylo and Paradise Wildlife Park have worked closely alongside each other with teams from both companies excited about the opportunities of creativity and sustainability. Together we have been able to create some incredible enrichment for the animals in our care, created from recycled silver birch logs kindly donated by Crew Clothing.

Animal enrichment plays a vital role in the cognitive challenges and social opportunities in the lives of all animals. Enrichment in zoos provides species-appropriate challenges, opportunities and stimulation that can create a dynamic environment and provide opportunities to mimic behaviours that would be carried out by their wild counterparts. Enrichment is dependent on the species as well as the individual, as enrichment promotes a range of natural behaviours but must be adapted to ensure it is accessible to the individual to whom the enrichment is being provided. There are various forms of enrichment through habitat, cognitive, sensory and food, all playing an important part in providing animals with the best quality of care.
With this in mind Stylo sat down with the enrichment team at Paradise Wildlife Park to ensure the correct needs and safety of the animals were met. From these meetings Stylo were able to design and create some incredible enrichment. Our porcupines Ellie and Nancy now have outdoor houses for them to enjoy a bit of shade if they wish to nap outside in the summer months with their own names on of course! Tomshi and Rizla, our reticulated pythons, have been enjoying their lounge chair which they have been climbing all over and relaxing. Our inquisitive Snow Leopards Jessie and Panja, definitely couldn’t be left out and the team at Stylo made them a fantastic tombola style slow feeder, where they have been working out how to spin the enrichment for tasty treats!

This partnership has given the animals in our care here at Paradise Wildlife Park some incredible enrichment that would never have been possible without the kind contribution from Stylo and Crew Clothing. Their donation of their time and team as well as the logs have been able to not only create sustainable and recycled enrichment but also exciting and fun for the animals.
We would like to take this time to say thank you to both Crew Clothing and Stylo for the incredible kindness and support. We look forward to working with them further and when you visit the Park don’t forget to look for the amazing pieces of sustainable enrichment.
