Dine4wildlife this year saw a bear-tastic evening as we set out to raise vital funds for wildlife!
The focus of fundraising for the evening was on the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) to coincide with the grand opening of our Sun Bear Heights habitats. With this, the night was set to be filled with adventure and excitement.
The evening started as our guests were transported to the South East Asia rainforests at our Sun Bear Heights, with the sounds of traditional music in the air from our live performers. Guests were able to wander around the newest habitat here at Paradise Wildlife Park which opened in early March and has since welcomed hundreds of visitors. Providing educational tools to learn all about sun bear conservation. Our Dine4Widlife guests were greeted with a champagne arrival and had a chance to witness what sun bears Kyra and Indera get up to after everyone goes home. Our guests saw both Kyra and Indera climbing and exploring their habitats as well as enjoying a few very tasty snacks from their keepers whilst listening to an exclusive sun bear talk. With the chance to win an exclusive sun bear adoption. Pin the Tongue on the sun bear game was a top hit and got the fundraising event started!
As our guests were guided to the marquee for a three-course meal, they were surrounded by the beauty of the rainforest with bamboo decor and colour accents all around. With a fusion of flavours, our guests were ready for an exciting evening. With guest speakers Dr Wong who had recently visited Paradise Wildlife Park providing an exclusive thank you on the night and the brothers from One Zoo Three explaining about the need for conservation and education, all guests were ready to help where they could.
From a silent auction to a grand auction to bring the final fundraising of the night to a close, there was no better way to finish than the incredible support we received. We are proud to announce that we have raised over £20,000 on the evening.
A spokesperson from the fundraising team stated: ‘This is such a huge contribution to the Tabin Sun Bear Project in partnership with the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre as well as supporting our sun bears here at Paradise’
We would like to thank all our sponsors of the evening as well as all our guests who attended and supported us in raising these vital funds that go towards supporting the efforts of conservation of species and their natural environments!
