Pygmy Marmoset

Pygmy marmosets are the smallest living monkey

Pygmy marmosets are monogamous and usually give birth to twins. Adults of the pygmy marmoset weigh a mere 100 grams! They are gumivores, which mean they supplement their diet with sap, or gum, from certain forest trees. They dig a groove in the bark of a tree with specially adapted, shovel shaped incisor teeth. Then they lick out the sap.
