Global Recycling Day is an international day that was created in 2018 to help recognise, and celebrate, the importance recycling plays in preserving our precious primary resources and securing the future of our planet. It is a day for the world to come together and put the planet first.
The mission of Global Recycling Day, as set out by the Global Recycling Foundation, is twofold:
Here at Paradise Wildlife Park, we continue to work towards recycling efforts. We have reduced our use of single use plastic by removing all plastic water bottles from our shops and restaurants and have replaced them with more recyclable aluminium cans. We now work with suppliers who are able to create some of our merchandise from ocean plastic waste. We also hold a sustainability comity to continue to improve and develop ideas on how we can help towards to need of recycling more.
Even some of the animals here at the Park are taking the initiative to show their support for Global Recycling Day, Tierra our Cara Cara has been showing off her recycling skills to visitors to the Park. You can catch Tierra’s skills across our socials channels and at our Bird Show at 2pm daily.
