Hertfordshire Zoo is thrilled to announce that our very own Cassie Jones has been nominated for the prestigious BIAZA Woman of the Year 2025 award!
Cassie serves as the Deputy Section Head of Large Carnivores and has been an integral part of Hertfordshire Zoo for the past 12 years. Her extensive career in animal care has also taken her to Battersea Park Children’s Zoo and Chessington World of Adventures, where she gained invaluable experience in both animal husbandry and leadership skills.
Cassie’s passion for animal welfare shines through in her work with Hertfordshire Zoo’s Amur Tigers, where she serves as their Primary Trainer. Her dedication has led to significant advancements in their care, including:

Beyond her primary role, Cassie is deeply committed to scientific research and conservation. As the Lead Research Officer at Hertfordshire Zoo, she mentors students, oversees research projects, and contributes to new studies that enhance our understanding of the animals in our care.
