A medium-sized penguin, with a robust, heavyset body. Black on the back and white below, with variable black markings on the breast and belly.
Penguins have the most feathers per square inch of the body out of all birds. They have small muscles at the base of each feather that enable the feathers to be held tightly against the body whilst in water, forming a waterproof layer. As these feathers are covered in oils, they dry out very quickly once out of the water.
