We would like to announce that from Thursday 4th January 2024, the Zoo will be closed to the public whilst we carry out essential maintenance tasks, and upgrades around the site as well as our preparation for our exciting changeover to Hertfordshire Zoo re-opening on Saturday 10th February 2024.
This decision will allow us to continue to improve and create beautiful habitats for our animals and for all our members and guests to enjoy. We have some exciting changes happening across our World of Animals and World of Dinosaurs and we can’t wait to show you. Although not all of the work will be completed prior to our re-opening date, these additional projects will certainly provide things to look forward to later in the season.
We look to have the highest standards for all areas throughout the year, and with January being one of our quietest months, we have chosen this time to close to minimise the impact on our members and guests. Our dedication to our animals and visitors is our main priority and we hope that during the time we are closed, we will be able to build on the foundations of Hertfordshire Zoo: Education, Conservation, Research and Welfare.
We are excited to bring in these changes and would like to thank all our members, supporters and visitors for their ongoing support as we continue to make Hertfordshire Zoo a place of conservation and education and somewhere all guests can make memories that last a lifetime and share the wonder of wildlife.
For our members to compensate for the time we are closed we will be extending memberships for five weeks – this will ensure you will have the time back to enjoy all the Zoo has to offer. Members who pay by standing order payment will receive a credit with their reimbursement which can be utilised until 31st December 2024, you will be notified closer to the time on how to redeem this. Please note, this extension does not extend to the under 2 memberships.
We look forward to seeing all our members for the remainder of the year and we will be excited to be welcoming you all back to the zoo once we re-open with exciting updates.
